Mrs. Maria Kyriakidou-Karmioti
Managing Director
Maria Kyriakidou-Karmioti holds a BSc (Hons) Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from City University, London and a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from Manchester Business School.
Maria started her professional career with Hellenic Bank, Cyprus, from the position of Executive Assistant to the CEO. In 1994, utilising an opportunity that was created, she started her own company (E. Kyriakides Lighting Ltd) having as its main activity the import and supply of lighting fittings. The company has since developed into one of the largest firms in Cyprus, serving the Corporate Customers and Large Projects and the Personal and Commercial Customers segments.
Maria also served on the Board of Athina Cyprus Investment Public Company Ltd.
In 2015, she was appointed to the position of Managing Director of Kyriakides & Pierides Overseas Ltd, one of the oldest companies in the sector of electrical contractors.
Maria’s personal and professional goals include constantly seeking new business challenges, maximising the value created by the two companies for the benefit of customers, staff and shareholders and ensuring that corporate social responsibility (CSR) is exercised as a priority in both firms.

Mr. Ioannis Telonis
Executive Director
Ioannis (Yiannis) Telonis is a former senior banker with substantial experience in a wide range of banking and investment activities. In a career spanning over 25 years, he headed various departments and subsidiaries of the Hellenic Bank Group, repositioned and oversaw the subsequent licensing of the brokerage, investment banking and fund management subsidiary of the Bank and headed the setup and operation of a fully licenced bank in Moscow, Russia. He was involved in a number of M&A transactions and served as a director in private and public companies in Cyprus, Israel and Russia.
Yiannis is currently serving as executive director in Kyriakides & Pierides Overseas Ltd and as a non – executive director in E. Kyriakides Lighting Ltd. He is also an independent non-executive director in Easternmed Asset Management Services Ltd and sits on the Board of a number of investment funds. He is also a regular contributor and commentator in financial media.
Yiannis holds a BSc(Econ) from the London School of Economics and an MBA in Export Management and International Business from City University (now Cass) Business School. He is also a member of the UK Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Mr. Phanos Karmiotis
Director (Non Executive)
Mr Phanos Karmiotis is a graduate of the English School and holds a Bsc Economics degree from City University London and a Master of Science in Shipping, Trade and Finance from the City University Business School London.
From 1989 to this date Mr Phanos Karmiotis has held executive positions in the shipping industry within the sectors of ship and port agency, ship chartering, ship finance and forwarding as well as shipping consultancy and shipping analysis.
In addition to his executive duties in the shipping sector he also serves as a non – executive director of E. Kyriakides Lighting Ltd and Kyriakides & Pierides Overseas Ltd.

Mr. Christos Kyriakides
Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Christos Kyriakides is a former Executive of Cyprus Airways having served the airline for over 25 years from the posts of Internal Auditor, Chief Financial Officer and General Manager. In his latter capacity he was instrumental in the preparation and implementation of the Company’s restructuring plan and in securing the necessary approval of the European Commission for restructuring aid.
During his period with Cyprus Airways, he also served as the Chairman of Committee of Trustees of the company employees Provident Fund and as Director of the Company’s subsidiaries in the fields of airport retail shopping and tour operation.
Following his departure from the airline he joined the Management team of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (SELK), the regulatory body for the accountancy profession in Cyprus which he served for a decade.
Christos is a Fulbright Scholar and holds a BSc with distinction and special honours in Accounting from Jacksonville State University in USA.
He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and a member and ex-President of SELK.
Quantity Surveyor
Mr. Loucas Louca
Quantity Surveyor (QS)
Mr Loucas Louca is the Quantity Surveyor (QS) of the company. He is the longest serving and most experienced member of the Executive Team having started his career as an assistant in G. Th. Pierides back in 1971.
His excellent record and skills soon earned him the position of QS for G. Th. Pierides Ltd for the MTC electrical contract in Gibraltar rising by 1985 to the position of Project Manager / QS for Gibraltar.
Over the years Loucas has gained vast technical and specialist experience as a Contracts Manager, Project Manager and QS at a number of sites in Gibraltar the Gulf and Cyprus. His international experience has proven invaluable to transferring best professional practice and specialist technical skills to the company especially with regard to maintenance of various systems like fire alarm systems, telemetry and PA systems. He has also successfully managed multi discipline teams and multi trade teams on specific, highly complex works awarded by the MOD.
His close involvement in M&E designs, tendering and project running has made him one of the best Control and Cost Control Project Managers in the business.
Senior Engineer / ESBA M&E Manager
Mr. Sophoclis Panayiotou
Senior Engineer / ESBA M&E Manager
Mr Sophoclis Panayiotou obtained in 1991, the Diploma of Technical Engineer, from the Higher Technical Institute (HTI) in Nicosia, Cyprus, after which he attended the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST), UK, from where he earned, in 1995, a B.Eng. in Electromechanical Systems Engineering and in 1996, an MSC in Electrical Engineering.
He is a registered electrical and mechanical engineer with ETEK Cyprus and holds a certificate of competence (First Class with unlimited capacity both at HV and LV installations) from the Electromechanical Services Department of the Republic of Cyprus.
He has been heavily involved in the operations of the company since his recruitment in 1997, rising gradually to his current post as Senior Engineer and Project Manager, Head of Quality Assurance and Health and Safety Management Representative.
His working experience includes Senior Engineer and Site Engineer in numerous electrical and mechanical works at ESBA sites, Senior Engineer under the Specialist Term Contract for the maintenance of fire alarms, PA and telemetry island wide, testing of HV electrical installations and H&S Manager for a number of MOD UK projects.
Mr Panayiotou has kept current with best professional practice by attending over 20 courses in general and specialist areas like petrol and oil lubricants, pressure systems, legionellosis, design construction and testing and maintenance of building telecoms systems, risk assessment, water resource management, health and safety and specialist electrical installations.
